Reiki is a Japanese word meaning universal life energy.  It’s also an ancient style of energy healing.  My intention as a therapist is to restore and balance your body’s natural energy allowing it to heal.  I’m a middle man, channeling universal energy through my body and into the client’s body and aura.  Healing happens on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.  It’s known to reduce stress and increase well being.

During the treatment I use different hand placements that correlate to each of the 7 main Chakras or energy centers of the body running along the spine.  Each one has a specific function in our lives.  They absorb and circulate universal life force energy (the energy all around us) throughout the entire body (picture arteries and veins).  When the Chakras are in balance, cosmic energy flows effortlessly between them and the body is healthy. Unfortunately, stress and suppressed emotions can cause blockages in the energy flow, creating imbalance and illness. Reiki helps to release these blockages and promotes a healthy energy circulation.

People have different experiences on the table from different sensations (magnetic pull, heat, cool, tingling) to tasting things, seeing things and feeling an array of emotions. You basically lay face up on a cozy massage table, relax and open to the flow of energy. It is best to meditate or try to keep a clear mind during a treatment, but some people fall asleep which is fine too. Whatever healing needs to take place, does.

Reiki WatermarkI sometimes like to explain Reiki as meditation done for you…

When you sleep you absorb small amounts of cosmic energy. We survive on this energy from day to day and when it is low, illness on one of the four levels will manifest. When you meditate you absorb 10 times the amount of energy you would in sleep! (Sleep is unconscious meditation, meditation is conscious sleep) During a Reiki session, the therapist acts as a conduit of the energy and consciously enhances and balances it as it enters the body. It can be immensely powerful.

I would recommend Reiki to anyone that is serious about healing themselves and desires to be the best version of themselves.
