Itās been a long time since Iāve given you an update on these critters!Ā Let me tell you why.Ā First the owners and I did some traveling!Ā Winter was taken care of by the neighbours while her owners were on vacation.Ā They were shocked at her new sweet disposition. Ā They asked if āshe was on kitty Prozac?ā.Ā They were able to pet and brush her with no problems!Ā Thereās no doubt Winterās attitude and level of happiness has improved.Ā Unfortunately weāve had some setbacks in the plan to let Winter have run of the house.Ā The owners will not risk her peeing anywhere in the house and canāt participate in the homework of extending Winterās territory.
I donāt consider this case study to be a success because it could not be executed properly.Ā Iām very happy Winterās mood and quality of life has improved.Ā Teaching her ānon cat peopleā how to play with her and praise her will be valuable to her health.
Iāve only seen Naya the dog once since my last entry.Ā We had another relaxing Reiki session with belly rubs.Ā Her future living situation is unclear, and I think this adds to her anxiety.
I still check in with both critters long distance and send them loving energy.
What have I learned from this?
Just as Dr Usui discovered years ago when he first began to give Reiki, there must be an energy exchange.Ā In this day and age, the exchange is usually money for services.Ā Because this was not present, a lack of commitment and responsibility resulted on both ends.Ā The owner is an integral part of their animalās healing.Ā They did not ask me to heal their pets.Ā I volunteered!Ā Unfortunately, thatās precisely why I couldnāt achieve what I wanted for the pets.
This was a great way to get experience animal communicating, making healing plans for pets and performing animal Reiki.Ā I now understand the importance of an energy exchange in healing.
Iām super excited to announce Iāll soon be officially offering Animal Reiki!Ā Stay tuned for rates and services.
Love and gratitude,
